The government is dumb. There I said it. No I'm not some ignorant teenager who knows nuts about politics and just want to find fault.

Raising ERP prices might deter a few poorer people from buying cars, but you think the rich people will care? With more and more millionaires in Singapore, doesn't it make sense to restrict cars by decreasing the number of people at the top of the financial chain from getting cars, instead of from the bottom? The middle-income families who will be most affected by this would be the people who use the car to ferry the entire family around, maybe it being a neccesity if they have an elderly or if they have multiple children. The rich people who wouldn't give two hoots about this are the people who will buy a car for each family member even when they don't need it. You want to restrict traffic, how about each household only allowed to have one car, unless special approval is given. That'll definately cut down cars, and the people who really need the cars can still afford it.

You want to know why people want cars so much? It's because the so-called public transport system of ours is rather crap. Raising prices because of rising costs? Public transport isn't meant to make profits!!! They are meant to be a way of paying back to the people who pay taxes to keep the country running!!! It's meant to increase efficiency!!! If your profits drop, so be it, don't take it out on the people!!!! The fact that you are even turning a profit should be appreciated. You think the public transport is great? Try getting on the train towards jurong from bukit batok at 7. I see the people outside who are maybe late for work because the damn train is so packed that they can't get in. Get us more trains, dammit, is it really that hard?

Go ahead throw me in jail. There's no freedom of speech in this country anyway.
